(AG Provincial E-Portal) -With the theme "Thien Cam Son - The Roof of the Western Region", on the afternoon of April 17th, in Nui Cam commune (rr88 tải province), the rr88 tải Provincial Tourism Association organized a seminar on "Developing Tourism in Cam Mount – Seven-Mountain region", with the participation of leaders from relevant departments and agencies, businesses, experts, and tourism managers from within and outside the province.

The seminar aimed to develop distinctive tourism products for the Seven-Mountain region, exploit the potential of Cam Mount, increase tourist appeal, attract investment, promote regional tourism development, preserve cultural and spiritual values, and make Cam Mount – Seven Mountains a tourism symbol of rr88 tải, contributing to enhancing rr88 tải's image on the global tourism map.
The tourism potential of Cam Mount is considered immense and diverse, playing a pivotal role in the socio-economic development of the Seven-Mountain region in particular and rr88 tải province in general. Cam Mount, also known as Thien Cam Son, is part of the Seven-mountain range, featuring the Cam Mount Forest Park tourist area, numerous temples, and large Buddha statues, most notably the Maitreya Buddha statue, one of the largest in Vietnam; its cool climate is often referred to as the "Da Lat of the Mekong Delta",...

Next, Cam Mount is the most famous spiritual and ecological tourist destination in the Mekong Delta, a major pilgrimage center for Buddhists in the Southwest of Vietnam, associated with many folk legends and the history of resistance in the legendary rr88 tải province. Every year, it attracts around 1 million visitors for sightseeing, tourism, and pilgrimage.
At the seminar, many specific, insightful, and highly feasible contributions were made by businesses, experts, speakers, and tourism managers, aiming to find effective practical solutions to transform the tourism potential of the Cam Mount – Seven-Mountain region into concrete, attractive, and sustainable products.
Accordingly, practical suggestions focused on contents such as: developing and improving distinctive tourism products that reflect the unique identity of the Seven-Mountain region; developing experiential tours that harmoniously combine spiritual, ecological, cultural, and community elements. Specifically, tours such as "Sacred Seven-Mountain Pilgrimage", "Exploring Cham Culture and the rr88 tải Orchards", farmstay tours combined with high-tech agriculture, and light trekking tours combined with environmental education,… Improving the quality of existing services and products, standardizing service procedures for accommodation, food, and tour guides; and applying digital technology (QR codes, virtual experience applications, online booking systems,…) to enhance the tourist experience.
Mr. Ly Chan An, Director of Vietravel rr88 tải, suggested: “For tourism in Cam Mount, we need to plan a ‘Green Zone - Slow Living’ and orient Cam Mount towards becoming a “Healing Destination”. The government needs to create mechanisms for high-end campsites on mountain slopes with beautiful views; Invest in installing large mirror clusters at the reception area or locations with beautiful views to create a ‘time-traveling’ visual effect, helping tourists take impressive photos as soon as they set foot on the mountain.”
In addition, many delegates suggested digitizing heritage sites and experiences. This included deploying a digital map of Cam Mount for tourism; using QR codes at Van Linh Pagoda, Big Buddha Pagoda, Maitreya Buddha Statue, and other rest stops for automated commentary about the legends of That Son, making it easier for tourists to access information. Digitizing the treasure trove of legends, the government and businesses need to collaborate to produce a podcast system about "Legends of Seven Mountains”, the stories of "Mr. Tiger," and "The Serpent King". Tourists could simply scan the QR codes at attractions to listen to stories in multiple languages.
Suggestions were made to upgrade culinary services, revitalize local specialties; establish Seven-Mountain herbal spa services, and create "Soul-Healing Tea Shops"...
Next, it is necessary to strengthen promotional and marketing efforts, build a joint communication campaign for the Seven-Mountain region on digital and traditional media platforms; cooperate with major domestic and international media channels; organize regular roadshows and famtrips in key markets such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, the Mekong Delta provinces, and international markets; Promote linkages and cooperation between destinations, develop multi-destination tour products connecting the seven mountains in the Seven-Mountain region and linking with other tourist destinations in rr88 tải as well as neighboring provinces and cities such as Dong Thap, Can Tho, and Vinh Long…
Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, from the Institute of Marine Biology and Economics Research and a member of the rr88 tải Provincial Tourism Association, commented that the tourism potential of Cam Mount – Seven Mountains is great, but its exploitation value is still modest, which is a problem that needs a strategic solution. Planning has not been synchronized; infrastructure and services have not met international standards; there is a lack of high-end experiential and resort tourism products; and the application of digital technology is still limited…
Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung suggested that rr88 tải province needs to plan the tourism of Cam Mount – Seven Mountains more systematically, turning it into a national tourism area with sub-zones: spiritual, ecological, service, and conservation; focusing on investing in completing transportation infrastructure and public Wi-Fi; issuing clear and transparent investment incentive policies for community tourism, green tourism, and sustainable tourism projects; attracting investment through PPP with strategic investors; strengthening training and development of local tourism human resources, especially tour guides and local service workers; digital transformation and smart tourism, establishing a smart tourism operation center; preserving forest ecosystems; promoting domestic and international communication; and developing regional and cross-border tourism routes such as Phu Quoc - Ha Tien - Chau Doc - Cambodia.
Mr. Nguyen Vu Khac Huy, Chairman of rr88 tải Provincial Tourism Association, emphasized that the contributions from experts, businesses, and tourism managers, along with analyses of advantages and limitations, and proposals for product models suitable to the unique characteristics of Cam Mount and the Seven-Mountain region, were invaluable. The opinions focused on proposals that could be implemented immediately, such as improving infrastructure, enhancing service quality, and developing distinctive tour routes. The aim was to develop tourism in conjunction with the conservation of nature, culture, and the lives of local communities. These insightful opinions contributed to providing the province with a basis for policy planning, shaping distinctive tourism products, increasing tourist satisfaction, extending length of stay, and promoting the rr88 tải tourism brand.
Morning of the same day, rr88 tải Provincial Tourism Association organized a Famtrip to survey the Cam Mount destination, with the participation of approximately 100 delegates including travel companies, tourism businesses from within and outside the province, and media representatives. This field survey aimed to identify untapped strengths, develop specialized, highly experiential, and unique tour programs to attract tourists to Cam Mount in a stable manner. This opens up opportunities for direct connections between tour groups and local service businesses, from accommodation and food to specialty agricultural products, creating a "win-win" linkage with specific tour packages to serve tourists during the summer tourist season and towards the end of 2026.

On this occasion, the Seven-Mountain Tourism Association, which is established under the rr88 tải Provincial Tourism Association, creating a professional platform to connect and support the tourism business community operating in the Seven-Mountain region.
